A Son's Gratefulness
I’ve done so much that’s wrong
I could never list them all,
I did them for so long
You’ve not seen me stand up tall.
Well now my head’s held high
And I’m once again your son,
You may ask how or why?
Well it’s cause of you. My mum.
That loving, guiding hand
Which you used to help me through,
Made me a better man
When I finally came to,
Just knowing you were there
Always had been from day one,
And that you always cared
Is why I’m saying thank you mum.

Lovely she says, as she wipes her eyes.
I haven't been on here for a while. Today I thought I would have a little peek. I wonder what's new on the Poetry Showcase?
I read this and now I have something in my eye. Can't see properly to read the rest.
Just beautiful ... Lorrie
Thanks Lorrie
Argh what the hell let everyone here who reads know.
You're welcome MUM, I knew you'd eventually come and have a look that's why I didn't email it to you. A surprise
A lovely surprise.
It was a lovely surprise and it's nice to be able to say ... I love you ... without people thinking I'm some sort of weird stalker. lol.
So, I love you.
MUM ... aka Lorrie
Thanks Mum
Right back at you.
I LOVE YOU TOO.
Although I think the poem speaks volumes and those who had been following your writes might have been able to work it out by now.
Anyway I'm glad I was finally able to say how I really felt. And thank you once again
