The Other Side Of Me (Chapter 6)
A ten grand debt and a burnt-out fridge
A few CDs and bugger all more,
This job arose like a granted wish
It helped to pin my feet on the floor.
The people working within the walls
Of this metal working company,
Inspired the strength, to quit it all,
Welcome to the other side of me... I am a victory!
Half a decade, I spent, paying off
What I owed on my own redemption,
Finally I was, comfortably home
And ensconced in my own salvation,
Where I continued to pen my thoughts
Millions of syllables set me free,
But I hid it from my new cohorts,
Welcome to the other side of me... I am a victory!
Whilst I did live in abject squalor
For a portion of my own rehab,
I managed to unlatch the collar
Of addiction and memories past,
And focus solely upon the light,
Of my new found positivity,
And then, there-for-after win the fight.
Welcome to the other side of me...I am a Victory!
