The Scheme

THE SCHEME
I know I’m just a miniscule portion in the scheme
Of the interlacing components of life as it’s seen.
Life carries ever onward, regardless of you or I
As the stars keep on illuminating in the night sky.

Now a sullen boy reacts to god
In a negative sort of way,
His opinions fuel another child
To fall upon his knees and prey,
As he stands in life, and fights to free
The destitute from living hell,
The all-encompassing scheme of things
Seems to be surviving quite well.

I know I’m just a miniscule portion in the scheme
Of the interlacing components of life as it’s seen.
Life carries ever onward, regardless of you or I
As the stars keep on illuminating in the night sky.

As an over-zealous costumer
Shouts profanity with each word,
And an impressionable schoolgirl
Masters English because she heard,
The confluence of obscenities
Belligerently screamed aloud,
And became a best-selling author
Because that’s what this scheme allows.

We’re all just microscopic organisms built to blend
To become more then we ever could as just a human.
In retrospect we’re no more than a single muscle flex
Which controls one wing, only, of the butterfly effect.
