Mid-Life Pool Antics

With just a pair of trunks attached
You dive in to the chilly pool
And swim lengths ‘til it’s nearly time
To get out and go back to school

But then you stop the exercise
As soon as you get your first job
And where a slender figure stood
There’s now a middle-aged round blob

The trunks become a pair of shorts
That cover every part in sight
As your white legs when bared indoors
Would give a gran a nasty fright

Although this happens much too fast
I went with it and had a ball
Yet no-one stopped and laughed at me
As this will happen to us all
