Like Tulips Dying On A Window Sill
You once said
"Giving flowers is
pointless."
You made it clear
"They are just going to
die anyway."
I'm watching my tulips
die before my eyes.
They are tarnished with
that inescapable brown,
but smell stronger than
bloomed.
I could throw them out.
I could clean away the fallen
petals.
But good things though
short, like flowers,
are the best remembered.

Love Tulips

Yes, flowers are sometimes short lived and I like the sense this
poem captures, as we all know of their beauty, but their memory
is the beauty that captivates and inspires...
