the day you were conceived
you had given me
an experience i could never forget
the sudden cravings for foods
that i never imagine to eat

when you were inside me
i had the most wonderful feeling

when you were about to be born
the pain i had on my labor
i spent 16 hours in pain
inside the labor room
i brought my rosary & prayed

finally, my doctors decided
to have you on CS delivery
coz you were too big for my pelvis
and so it be done
no more labor pains

now that you were born
i have seen the very best creation
of my God, and i have thank HIM
so graciously & tearfully
seeing my first child

when we went home
i often sing you a song
the gift of love song
and it was your favorite song
you would always sleep on that

i had the most wonderful experiences
having you in my life
being alone most of time
without your father often
its always the two of us

you became my very best friend
even when you were still small
i had the habit of talking to you
the mature way, most often
talk to you like an adult

told you all about living
being lonely and happy
being alone and being with you
had cried a million tears with you
had embraced you all my life

the first time i saw you walk
you would never imagine
the joy you gave me
you were like a fulfilment of my dreams
the completeness of my being

my son, you were always good
you are always straight and kind
you are always my eye-opener
you are always keen in everything
and i admire you on that

when you went to school
i have always been so proud of you
for being so diligent and good
for being so studious and smart
but you are always shy and quiet

i have told you a lot of times
to be natural in everything
you don't need to be shy all the time
you have to show the real you
and give them the true colors of you

till now, i have always told you
to be acting cool and kinda loosen up
for you were always tidy & neat
and strict & perfect in everything
especially to your brother Kei

I have named you Kenichi
that means smart and intelligent
and it really describes you perfectly
coz you are always smart & witty
perfect in almost everything

now that you are bigger than me
i have always dreamt of seeing you
successful and happy in life
to see your pretty wife & child
to take care of my grandchildren

how i wish i could have the time
to spend more years with you
and to love me even more
while i get old & weak
and be taken cared of by you
