THE GULF WAR (Kuwait 1991)

As tension mounts with in the gulf
Our troops are set for war
To oust the evil that invaded Kuwait
Crushing him so he will reign no more.

Our planes are on a mission
To destroy all military ware
They fly their planes day and night
Firing their missiles on military sites.

Our ground troops practice maneuvers
To make sure they get things right
Moving closer to the boarder
Ready for a bloody fight.

As troops move close to the boarder
The enemy engages fire
Our troops return the complement
And the enemy calls a cease fire
They throw their weapons to the ground
And wave the flag of peace
There taken to the prison camp
And will stay until the fighting has ceased.

The Government has called for peace
And our pilots and troops will soon be home
Lets hope it has not been in vain
And peace will soon settle within the land
And governed by some one
Who is more sane.

Nice...

Apart from some spelling errors, this really captures the frame of mind for that time in history. As a civilian I will never ever experience what the troops such as yourself went through during that campaign. You have given me the reader an insight to what you experienced, and sadly looking back we were all guilty of being optimistic about real change when all we did was revome the invaders from Kuwait.
