A WIDOW TO THE SEA
Oh fair maiden
A widow to the sea
A waiting for your loved one
To land home safely
The seas have been rough
The storms have been fierce
The news of the weather
Feeding your fears
A hope that your love
Will survive the rough seas
You sit a waiting
As Time slowly drags
Hoping your loved one
Will soon be
Back on land
Weeks have passed
And time has drawn near
He arrives at the docks
He’s quashed your fears
You see him standing
You wipe away your tears
And
You run to him
With open arms
Meeting a loving embrace
Now you know he’s safe
Until time takes him again
To sea.
