But, happiness

I am not happy today.

There is a hole where
joy should be.

There is a void where
satisfaction should be.

I cannot look at a chair and say
I made that.

I cannot look at a field of corn and say
I planted that.

I cannot look at a book and say
I wrote that.

But,
I can look at my daughter and say
I love her and
she loves me.

And so,
I am happy now.
