Waffle House

One guy on the grill.
Manager helping out, making toast,
tossing on a few browns.
One guy slower than the rest.
Don't worry, he'll get it.

Waitress calling orders like
outta some '30's film noir.
Hollywood never would have cast her
in those days.
Black.

A well greased machine, this bunch.
They got a system, stick to it.
Keep it simple, nothing fancy.
This place is America in
all of its glory.

America

The foundation has always been a good diner, or just a good place to get the grub on. I like the observations being turned into a documentary, any given day who would notice them anyway. Great write.

I agree with Jh88. Passing

I agree with Jh88. Passing thru, you have no idea what's going on inside those four walls. You don't know, you don't care. You have your own worries to think about. Good write! Seeing it from a differant perspective.

Yes and isn't it just great...

Great poem with the simple freedoms that are
so fulfilling, eating at a waffle house, the right
to work, to be stylish and creative and to be
just one of the gang! Only in America, and
what a fantastic system indeed! Nice, creative
piece of simple glory and casual fulfillment...
Your imagery is inviting and inticing...
