Dancing On Bikes
The race begins at Strasbourg and they set off with chains on wheels ,
accompanied by an entourage of cars behind their heels ,
Bike riders from across the globe with their eyes focused on France ,
there is a bike that leads the way through the winding merry dance .
Standing high up on their pedals then and leaning around the bends ,
all along the sidewalks the music of life it never ends .
Hundreds of shoulders are swinging and swaying to the same tune
and their sweat rolls down and stings in the heat of the afternoon .
In green hills over the countryside the flowers and trees all grow ,
and to a world wide audience the pictures are all on show .
There are sights so over-spilling with natures beauty jumping ,
as the tour de France’s riders adrenalin is pumping .
As each stage comes and goes tactics begin to come in to play
and the race is on in earnest in the Tour De France today .
