I Loved A Rose
I love a rose near Covent Garden ,
it's as wild as wild can be .
No other rose I could suppose
could expose such a rare beauty.
Oh my lovely rose of London
should your soft petals ever fall
I would gladly pick all of them up,
and then kiss them one and all .
Just to hold you in my hands there ,
I would tell all the human race,
I loved a rose but it no longer grows,
London's a lonely place .
