The Cotton Wool Clouds
Cotton wool clouds.
The beautiful moon and stars shine through
regardless of the overwhelming force of
the cotton wool clouds.
The bonfire stirs.
Infinte sparks are sent on a
suicide mission
into the cold sky where
the fire of life is frozen
and they stop
reflecting.
May I ever be like the brave fire.
May I burn and stir and change
and be a warmth to those surrounding me.
May I live boldly and fearlessly
until there is no life left in me
and I become one with mother nature again.

Wonderful imagery you've created here, Melissa.
Sitting here at my desk, in front of my computer, reading your words, I was suddenly wisked away to another world - with moon and stars and cotton wool clouds
to comfort me. And a bonfire to warm me.
It was a very peaceful and relaxing world you took me to. Thank you for the journey.
Wrote it quite a while back...
Once again, thanks for your comments :) I wrote this one quite a few years ago actually, but it's stayed one of my favourites. It brings back memories of a friend's birthday bonfire on the beach. Beautiful night!
a creative construction
a poem composed with emotionally metaphorical components demands no simplicity. Which induces me to deem this poem brilliant. I like the style you display along with a corporeal sensability incorporated within its elegent potrayal. I beleive the warmth contained within your poetry in itself should warm those around you and if it dosn't they dont appreciate the quality of a creative mind with the gift of abstract thought and cognitive ability. great poem!!!
WOW!
Thank you so much! Your comments really mean a lot to me - I'm just so glad that somebody likes what I wrote. Quite overwhelming really! Thank you!
