Sirens Call

It is better to have loved and lost
Then to have never loved at all
I wonder if that’s what the sea-farers thought
When they heard the sirens call
For their beauty was divine
Their hair tumbled down in locks
No doubt men did indeed fall in love
As their ship crashed upon the rocks
The rocks portray my sadness
The vessel portrays my soul
The love I felt was fierce and deep
The ship I lost my toll
There was happiness in my heart
So tightly was it filled
But when she left it split apart
These wounds too deep to heal
For with my love I quickly rise
And without my love I fall
To those who say better to have loved and lost
I say you never loved at all
