THE DAD THAT IS IN ME

I tried to be a father so caring and so strong,
But everything I did was said to be so wrong.
I tried to be supportive, and be there all along,
But you were determined to make sure I was gone.

You took away from me the only chance I had,
To be a shoulder to cry on,
a loving caring dad.
I would have liked to see her grow,
And love her every day.
But you preferred to stoop so low and
Steal my kids away.

You took away my daughter she was all that I had,
And she grew up thinking that she never had a dad
I cannot forgive you but one day she will see.
The person that you turned away,
the dad that is in me.
