Too Much

Gather round
Don't make a sound
While I tell you how
How her world came down.

She was about 17
For 3 years had been clean
So she decided that she'd
Have 1 or 2 drinks.

2 turned to 3
And 3 to 5
Till she felt more than a buzz
And the party was alive.

All the other girls were jealous
B/c she was turnin' heads
By shakin her hips
And working those legs.

She was to young to drink
But I'm sure they didn't care
WHile they were touching her thighs
And smelling her hair.

She was about to go
Realizing she had 2 much
But they weren't ready for her to leave.
They hadn't had enough.

She was too drunk to see
The look in their eyes
When they said they'd walk her to her car
So she would be alright.

Next thing she knew
She was flat on her back
3 or 4 had had their turn
It made her sick to hear them laugh.

They finally left
Since they each got their way
Leaving her alone
Her faith slipping away.

She decided to tell a friend
Instead of keeping to herself
And her friend called up a councilor
Promising to help.

The counciling worked
But not enough.
Just remember to stop
Before you've had too much.
