The Island of Mine

I let go, baby, I let go
I drifted to another island
where I can manage what comes and what goes.
I had been drifting for a while now,
but nothing appeared.
My sea-crested eyes had grown weary and
I let the water take me.
I trusted the current.
Just today I was taken
to that island I'd been talking about.
Sand beneath my feet, I felt gravity again.
I had the choice
to pick up my left and soon thereafter, my right.
Coming easier than thought,
I walked along the coast of my island,
free to roam.
So I lie there in the sand,
the sun's rays dancing upon my skin.
I've never felt so alone and consoled at the same time.
I don't know how long I'm supposed to lie here,
but I intend never to leave this place.

I Really Like This Write!

very dreamy and gentle. I felt it sweep me away, along with it.
