I know that my life hasn't been perfect
That's why I'm talking to You to get it correct
There are times when I step out of line
And get myself in a terrible bind

There were many times I did wrong and asked You to forgive me
During those times, I found out that my God is forgiving

I talk to You all day through
Because I know what You brought me through
I may not know what You're going to do
But I want to thank You

Although there are twists and turns in life
You always pull me through and let me know that everything is going to be alright

Out of all the bad things I've done
I've decided to get closer to You
I've chosen the right thing to do
Because I'd still be doing wrong if it weren't for You

When we talk, everything is lifted from me
I get up off my knees feeling happy
I pray for others and myself
And I pray about my problems and everything else

The thought of getting closer to You makes me happy
I get happy because I know it's what's right for me
Getting and being saved has been on my mind lately
I'm now taking that step and I know that You're proud of me

I wish that I can take others with me on my new journey
But if they don't want to go, all I can do is keep on praying
I'll pray that they'll take that step before it's too late
So Father God, please let them know to don't wait
