face to face
looking back at me.
Up there
nothing but black
races through my mind.
No thoughts,
no sound,
just the shallowness
of what wants to be there.
Hand
beating pen to paper;
anxious to write;
to spill its passion
from left to right.
Pen, hand, and mind
unable to write;
