You

You are a man who walks silently
carefully avoiding waterfalls of words,
Your feelings run in tranquil streams flowing into
the deeper ocean of your hidden passions.

There was once a troubled time when I required your loyalty;
Your devotion spoke constantly to calm my restless spirit
and you were patient with my fears.

Ah you are a man wrapped soft in his silence,
not trusting paragraphs of promises…
Believing ‘Faithfulness’ is not a verbal thing but more…
And now at last I know that your love for me
cannot be found in ballads of eternal declaration,
nor in the loudness of external expressions,
but in the touch of your hand on mine!

With eyes closed I know the lyrics of your heart
as a lullaby is memorized in childhood
and every time I hear your melody in my soul
I submit to your silent steadfast strength...

…and each time, my love, I am conquered again
by your gentleness.

Brilliant ,touching.{all the magic of this world,
dwells within you,
an eternity of years,
and its all you ever needed to know.}

I'd almost claim territory on this fine work, but presumptious it would truly be....

Your poem is a gentle song to be felt.

I thought that this poem spoke just as loud from a giving heart. Beautiful and simple, to the point, even to comfort the mind as well as the heart. Thank's, I really like this one. Ron

It's nice to give thought, to the thought of what made us first fall in love with poetry, and not to abuse it.
