There's a chair with four legs

the chair creeks and squeaks with their gyrations,

one more leg, "brand new" he whispers

a stain on the seat from a disobedient grand daughter
underneath, dried mayonaise once mistaken for glue
by an old suede man, and a story for the ages sit and waits
in a back alley, now providing shelter
