Missing Memories

Absence makes the heart grow fonder for the person that you miss,
Your thoughts go back repeatedly to the warmth of that first kiss.
You search in vain for a memory that makes you feel alright,
But thoughts alone, they disappear, and day turns back to night.

My memories of you and me are filled with good vibrations,
They linger on inside my head and give me sweet sensations.
Like the thought of you in that red dress, the contour of your hips,
Your smile that lights a darkened room and the softness of your lips.

They are each to me like a calming sea, a warmth that fills my brain,
They seem to be like a melody that soothes a lovelorn pain.
A pain it is for far away is where she is from me,
And far away she will remain for the future I can’t see.

For if I could I’m sure of this, she’d be right by my side,
And in that way I could declare, a love I now must hide.
So this is more a note to me, than her for she’s not here
For if she was I could requite, how much I hold her dear...
