Marching Out

Blood spilled on the shamrocks
The fighting ensues.
The RIRA, British, and Loyalist forces too.

I never knew her, this Irish rose.
Her bonny face and red hair.
She's disillusioned too.

Stand your ground, march out, fire at will.
I'm tired of this destruction.
She is too.
Just get out, and the violence will stop.
For the better of the two.

Comrade O' Connor keeps his eye on the wheel.
Practicing guerilla tactics in the wheat fields.
The bombs are set, the officer nods in a frown.
The North is drowned out by screaming wails.

March out!

very strong words there........

I am Irish and have lived there all my youth and I find it
amazing how they do not teach the true history of Irelands suffering,
here in the uk.
Ireland is scarred and it shows in the hatred displayed in the North and even in the republic.
However, I feel that both sides are fighting a losing battle....
I always compare the conflict in the North to that of Palestine.....in history obviously.......good write, thnx 4 sharing.peace.
