The Jewish kids went to church on Saturday.
I am a Christian, though I grew up in a neighborhood that was about 1/3 Jewish in Charlotte, NC. In my mind, the Jewish kids were just the kids that I couldn't play with on Saturday because they were at church then. Besides that, they were no different than everybody else.
Also, I agree with you: when I read the Gospels it seems that the Romans killed Jesus, not the Jews. The whole jew-hating thing seems so bizarre to me. Only a real schmegegge would go for it.

and I respect the people of the Books, Quran, Psalms of David, Bible and Torah.....I can relate to the message in your write...but you as a Jew and me as a Muslim, we both know deep down that Palestine will never see peace, and muslims and jews will never see eye to eye, there is too much hate and being irish too I know that the same way the Irish will never respect the English through false smiles and handshakes, too much damage has been done, too many fathers and brothers killed, too many mothers and sisters raped and just way too much bloodshed!......it just wont happen as much as we want it to...I respect this write a lot and I appreciate the fact you came out loud and proud of who you are.....there is nothing I hate more than someone who claims to believe in something then try to disguise it with their way of life and behavior......I always say,,,if you say your a jew, then act like one, and if you say your a christian then quit being so quick to judge cuz we're all apparently forgiving before you can even judge us and if your a muslim, then wear your head scarf and quit trying out new ways to disguise your faith by wearing hats instead, thats just lame!....for a world who is all into 'being yourself' we all try too hard to impress the faiths we oppose.....nice honest write neocon and keep it up, I enjoyed this read.....peace.

Thanks, Repenter. I've enjoyed your work on here, so your comment means a lot to me. I wish we could have peace between our people. We have the same origins and so many similar customs; it's so sad that we fight. I do find some hope in the Irish situatiion. If there can at least be a peace, however tenuous, it would be a start. Most of all in Israel and Palestine, we need new governments that genuinely want peace. We need an open and calm dialouge. And the settlements, occupied territories and suicide attacks need to stop. It is the Holy Land, and we all have a claim to it.
Living in America and the UK, I've had Palestinian, Pakistani, Iranian, Morrocan, Algerian, and Egyptian friends and co-workers, and I have a lot of respect for Islam. Muslims are some of the most hospitible people you'll meet. On both sides, our fanatics just need to chill out and stop killing each other. I share your sentiment, though, that too much blood has been shed and, sadly, it may never happen. But I hope that someday it can.
And yes, people should be true to their beliefs. There is nothing worse than a two faced actor like Bush calling himself a Christian or Bin Laden calling himself a Muslim. Those types of people make me sick. Peace be onto you and both of our peoples, Neo
