They Know

At night as I peer through the window
By the trees which never do sleep
While holding aloft their dark members
A silent vigil they keep

We share something more than the darkness

Christmas Waking Christmas Sleeping

Whan I awoke,From night-long sleep
I knew what there would be
I smelled my mothers' baking and
I think I smell the tree

I wonder if the gifts are wrapped
And all the lights are lit

Oedipus in Catharsis

Who haunts the darkened woodlands?
What moans my name at night?
Why does it try to lure me
Beyond the walls of light?

How does it know my failings?
And all the wrong I've done?

Baby Son

Yesterday my little son
Stood at the bedroom door
Tear-stained face but being brave because
I was off to war

You really haven't much to say
To a kid of five
You're his hero all the time

Mother Goose "gotcha"

As I was going to St.Ives
I met a man who had the hives
Cursed tormented soul was he
Cursed to writing poetry

Isolated, damned you see
Lost in verbal symmetry
Nothing mattered much to him

The Power of Science

I thought I saw an angel and
I thought that he saw me.
He was drinking crystal water by
A sagging Willow tree

Now I am atheistic and
I know this cannot be
By reason and by logic and

Corporis a Malo

Follow the deep river of time
Back thru' the dark canyons of the mind
Back to the place where a mothers' touch warms comforts and resists
against the approach of the messengers of Death.

Summers' Feeding

Breath of Summer
On mornings' Rise
Go forth and search
The bright'ning skies

But the forests' call
Will greater be
In dark bosom there to see
What waits behind each gnarled tree!

To Dante

Cometh nigh the day,When the ancient world shall
Give forth its' luster and
The children of the bride of him battle
yet the living God
Though He walked in our fields and

Orate

O Lord above O' look on me
The least of Thy creations
With open heart I call to Thee
In fearful adoration
Thou knowest Lord from whence I've come
And to the darkness goeth

Walpurgis

I heard them running everywhere
Down Timmons Street
Toward Grosvener Square

I hoped that I could get away
To the safety of my street
In the shadows of the foliage
Quietly retreat

EVA VINCIT

EVE VICTORIOUS
In the darkness of the finish
She will be called evil
She will have pleasure in it!

"Culvis dolori remedium mortuis est"

THE DINERS' CLUB

They came into the laboratory
This"scientific" throng
'Mid Petries and test tubes
Some short and some were long

They babbled to each other
Their egos well they fed
Of RNA,and DNA

REVELRY

I sat upon some tree-trunk
While waiting for my gold
Promised me by elfins;goblins young and old
I followed them,to forest glen;their magic to behold

They bid me stay for just awhile

TOGETHER

From the face of darken'd waters
From the depths of blacken'd sea
As a spirit which once moving
In a song as sung to me

This dream I've dreamt so often
Through lonely night I'm swept along
