The Aged Traveler
I saw a broken temple
Upon an ancient hill
A million stars looked down on me
The night was strangely still
What was it I remembered?
Had I come this way before?
While in the blackness pondered
Some long-forgotten lore
I thought I saw a flicker
Of light there in the gloom
Behind the darkened windows
From out the darkened rooms
And then a voice came pleading
Whisp'ring softly to my soul
Come closer and caress me
Drink from my Golden Bowl
Come back with me forever
To the darkness of our home
Pains' shadows far behind thee
And be no more alone

ya got me
I enjoyed the poem and the storyline, but I want more! You hooked me and then it ended! Take me further.
he Aged Traveler
Ahh!Further I cannot go.Much like your Insomnia,(which was an excellent piece),the journey continues in the mind,(or soul),of each individual, don't you think?
Thanks
Well done my friend.
Write within your soul..
I be the traveler
While reading through the lines,
I suddenly felt that I had become the traveller also!
Indulging work!
The Aged Traveler
Well written and flows nicely. I agree with DonS, not that I dislike the ending in itself, just that it came too soon. Perhaps a series should be done! :-)
