To Dante
Cometh nigh the day,When the ancient world shall
Give forth its' luster and
The children of the bride of him battle
yet the living God
Though He walked in our fields and
Taught upon our Holy Mountain
We understood Him not
He was a flicker of light in the dark tomb of mankind
His light revealed a doorway,
A passage to the bright dawn of the other morning
But in this hour we follow not
His way we will not choose
As the dance of the passing days
fills our hearts and minds,
The shadow of the nameless one
Falls across our path
And the light of Him Who made us
Can be seen no more
