Emerald Forest

Like an opal road,

The windy avenues of imagination,

They make up my way on this Middle World thoroughfare,

On iridescent discs I glide,

To a great green forest world,

Where the sun's prismatic rays filter through gleaming canopies,

An infant with a golden chalice smiles from the clouds,

As I return to inner depths of childhood,

In a peaceful world beneath the waters of the past,

I'm going back,

Letting go,

Dissolving into the emerald forest of Mari Ann's smile.

Love the mix of forests, waters and light

A luscious read with a delightful final line giving another level of context!

"like an opal road" - heavenly!

Loved it!

Thank you, Auragem!

Glad you enjoyed it! Tried to mix forest imagery with some symbolism here.

so smooth...

loved it... it read so smoothly and just poured over my lips as I recited its free flowing verses...

Thanks!

Thanks for your kind comments! Glad you liked it. Most of my poetry style tends to be free verse.
