The Rain Gods

All knowing rain gods shimmering in the breeze,
Taking the form of dampened trees,
Their faces drift in groups of shapes across dark stormy fields,
Heralding the rainy breeze,
Damp pantheon, they ride the autumn twilight,
The spirits of the woods in misty commotion,
Rain cloud, cracking thunder steaming their tropical visage,
As rivers flow to sea,
They emerge, mute magicians of primeval wisdom,
In the explosion of rainy waterfalls,
Leading us to the damp meadows of our youth.

Mute magicians of primeval wisdom - a gem!

Adore the luxurious tantalising of the senses! Lovely!

Thank you!

Thank you again for your compliments, Auragem! I am glad you enjoy my poems.Your encouragement makes me want to share even more!!! We poets have so much in common with our creativity and appreciation for nature and the cosmic within us! This one I wrote during a rainstorm. I looked out my window and the tops of the palm trees looked like faces. The poem evolved from there.....

Sincerely,
Night-Flyer
