Before you forget
Just a moment till daylight is through;
For the darkness will part us today
And the moonlight will seep into you
Fading my image away.
You’ll forget all the words I have said…
So, allow me to tell them, my dear.
Let my lips full of glimmering red
Spell the body and heart of my fear.
I can probably taste you today,
When the shadows this kiss shall erase
And your cheeks ever frozen shall stay,
As they did all those numerous days.
Can I ruffle the silk of your hair
On your forehead? I feel every strand
And the glow of your curls as they dare
Penetrate in the palm of my hand.
I embrace you so bitterly tight
For tomorrow this all will be dead;
Taken away by the night
Every touch, every kiss I have had.

wow. this gave me goosebumps. my grandmother passed away last night, and this really touched me. so i'm having a hard time with it, but your poem, i know it may be about a man but it made me feel better anyways. thanks.

It's not a man necessary.. It's just about someone you love very much... Someone you have so many things to say to, but the time is against it. There's nothing harder than knowing you're going to lose a part of you, and there is not a single chance to change anything. I'm really glad it helped you. This is the main purpose of my writing. Good luck.
It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop

GREAT WORDS! THAT PARTING KISS IS ETCHED ON MY MEMORY.YOU HAVE AN UNBOUNDED
NATURAL ABILITY FOR POETRY,AND THAT IS HARD TO FORGET.

A great poem. I really enjoyed the passion that was quite evident in the writing. the first stanza really drags you into the poem. nicely done.
