Public love
They knew that we have loved each other,
They could see how hard it was,
But none of them would ever bother
To understand the two of us.
They tore this love to many pieces,
Shared the little souvenirs
And kept the crumbs of our kisses
And the fragments of the years.
They know details and they discuss
The words you say, the things I do...
The noisy crowd has stolen us
And spread the story like a flu.
So now I hear your poignant name
The others shoot into the air.
They spell this love without an aim
While we have kept it like a prayer.
They sucked the flavor out of it
And killed this love with no regret.
That's why we never even greet;
They mustn't know we won't forget.

Oh, the heartache of it all...
Hi Nitta. Public Love is a really cool post! I particulartly like the second verse:
They tore this love to many pieces,
Shared the little souveneirs,
And kept the crumbs of our kisses,
And the fragments of the years.
And the second half of the fiourth verse is sheer magic!
They spell this love without an aim,
While we have kept it like a prayer.
Dear God, it makes me well up as I type it! Tremendous!
It made me well up as I read
It made me well up as I read it. Thank you for your comment.
Only one word to describe this poem..
Beautiful!
great poem!
In the Philippines, your poem encompasses a tele-drama series with much tears, a hanky to consider. I am almost through reading all your stuff. And generally, they're simply awesome. Hoping to read more... I'm learning a lot too with the rhythm.
