A Can Of Beans

Yes when I think of myself
An unread book on a shelf
Image in the framed mirror
So unloved and not dearer
Motivated by anger
From an unknown stranger
Seems to think my heart is stone
Just because I live alone

Disrespectful as a thief
Heart is now a fallen leaf
Oh so many strangers step
Many nights I almost wept
In my heart, beats a long trail
Hatred has caused one to fail
So this self esteem won't sell
Need to find a better trail

Where friends never come to score
On one's faults; open a door
To a sunny side of life
Escape all the downward strife
That fat man just seems to get
Someone's desrespectful wit
Oh! Now it is time to run
To a place to have some fun

No more beans before the trail
Love thyself is what you sell!
As I look into the miror
I see someone so dearer!
In a place where love trancends
A bouquet of love begins
Greater joy good friends do leave
You are someone, just believe!

Throw away that can of beans
Just saved to have some dreams
Few cents here, a few cents there
Buy a cut of prime beef rare
You never can please them all
They just cause sadness to fall
Find a better class of friends
Not involved with others' sins

All of us have short comings
Who needs their vocal strummings?
