I Once Knew A Man
No, I don't know him anymore
We used to live on the same shore
Now, he has changed somehow you know
His heart unhealed, so foul and though,
He just needs to find that great place
Where love smiles upon his face
I once knew this sad man you see
It seems as if this lost man is me
He seeks a happy earth somewhere
A mate, the right woman to share
Has fallen in love, and been hurt
Devil pushed his face in the dirt
People turn on him, know not why
Minds his own business, and so shy
Afraid to reach, to claim what's his
His soul is sad as his heart is
He's upsidedown, a little odd
Yet good nature gives him a nod
Doesn't own a car, or a home
Pays rent, to live under his dome
So getting along with others
An issue, like helping mothers
Yet with all his good traits he fails
Unhappiness so often prevails
He keeps his own way with the Lord
Freindly voice, yet, disturbing chord
The sound of sorrow, left its mark
On his knees in prayer, in the dark
Clings to Jesus, his oldest friend
Asks for salvation and a win~!
So you see, he's never alone
His faith makes a great golden dome
Where he keeps his mind and morals
As spirits of hope chant chorals
Closer to a better 'morrow
To help rid him of the sorrow
Of unrequited love once known
On the wings of time it has flown
The angels will look after him
He feels a halo's divine rim
A circle of love round his head
Warmth, joy, as lost causes are shed
He believes in the mighty Lord
Invites others to jump aboard!
Sure one day I'll know him again
Sure as beauty blooms in the rain
He'll find once more a happy heart
The Lord's love will never depart!
