cards of sorrow, verse of grace and candor
it could not give the comfort gone,
it could not take the pride in the dawn
pathetic sympathy, is borrowed sorrow
from someone's inadequate mind
to be so kind,

condolences, to console.......
yet its tradition, could not substitute
could not placate, what must be,
and yet one must show concern...
for it's the best offer at the time...
and at least it was as honest as it could be!
