The Prom

Oh it was a night for young stars
Never been to a prom
Shining colors of different cars
Happy smiles from a mom

The night of young Cinderellas
All dressed in lace and silk
Escorted by all the fellas
Hot, flowers dare not wilt

Bare breated lambs with gardenias
Graduates earn their place
Tuxedo's parade in arenas
Happy smiles on their face

The live band plays it's summer songs
Beauties dance along
Parking lot, some kissing til dawn
Oh! Nothing could go wrong

One sweet budding bloom so alone
Dressed in emerald green and white
Virtuous, so well known
Sauntering to be picked with might

She now meets him at midnight
As they just dance so gay
Sweet summer waltz, love so right
To meet first love's play

Slow dance on floors of shiny wax
Fragrant scent, lilies white
Soft shoe rhythms as new loves relax
As music sways with might

The ball is a crystal of youth
Moving on; take one's place
Feeling, wanting, bitter sweet truth
Glowing new love's sweet taste

The feeling of fresh new moments
Take your place on life's stage
Jumble, with magical torrents
Your mark etched on life's page

The graduates make thier power
The music plays and plays
New dreams come with every hour
A new dance comes to amaze

The sweet steps up, to new success
To greet this lovely truth
Cimb life's ladder to be the best
The dance of life's sweet youth

sweet

Captures a moment in time. raskin
