Break the Chain
I know that I would finally be free.
If only I could release the child in me.
Let go and move on is easy to say.
But that's hard to do when your past is in the way.
I use to listen to my parents put each other down.
It was like they didn't care that their children were around.
I want to go somewhere and scream and shout.
Until all my painful memories come out.
As a child you imitate what you see.
Unfortunately my kids may imitate me.
I want them to be happy, not full of pain.
So it's up to me to break the chain.
