The heart full of silence
and bleeding it's tears
gathering strength from
heaven knows where
searching forever
the one that will care
hoping somehow
to close out this fear

Seeking knowledge of eons
to cushion the fall
yet sometimes knowing
still nothing at all
of how it all happens
when left all alone
while running from life
and truth yet unknown

Watching the heartbreak
now stopping the flow
while realizing soon
there's no place to go
never just sure
of what's being felt
never in love
cause you can't love yourself
trying just to survive
in a world out of touch
while knowing the fear
you're not good enough

How it gets started
you're never quite sure
world ever painful
yet so full of allure
giving us dreams
so yet unfulfilled
teasing us gently
so our consciousness fills
with wants and desires
we never will know
closed off forever
from God's perfect flow

Where are the bright lights
I saw as a child
when life was all hugs
and so full of smiles
when no one would worry
of loving too much
where young hearts were tended
and needed no crutch
to get them through days
or long lonely nights
where loved ones protected
from ungodly sights
when wherever you went
you held someones hand
just happy you were born
in God's chosen land
