THE DREAMER

Forever the dreamer so lost in his art
casting himself in many a part
gazingly wonders so subtly torn
gives up his dreams on each bright new morn

Fighting the challenge that faces each day
seeking escapes in many new way
reality fades so no one can see
glimpses of lives that never will be

Illusion is ever with smiling allure
when every song's gone that still does endure
in minds yet so shattered cast to the world
to women's bright eyes and head full of curls
which teases so gently with feminine grace
yearning so long for a glimpse of her face

All worlds would be gathered in long held belief
no conquering women, cast down at her feet
not understanding and laden with fear
still never realizing what women hold dear
what they really seek as gifts in their lives
hinting in glances and feminine sighs
when love is a song with hearts so engrossed
surrendering only to men loved the most

This is a riddle so misunderstood
understanding their women if only they could
by formula, figure or subtle design
finding the answer while there is still time

Giving up self is the only recourse
winning her heart by fortunes now lost
now what does it matter when bodies entwine
if seasons would linger and she'd still be mine
