I would rather have love
than be in your groups and stand

I would rather have Promises
than meet and go over the simple cans

I would rather understand
the riches of the Holy One
than speak with you about woman and man

I would rather have rest because of loving
than lay down with you and look to reaching the visions of a Pastor and his brands

I would rather know all things
than glue together what it is called good to you and grand

There is no remedy for me
no salvation
no restoration, reconciliation, renewal, regeneration
healing, cleansing, or deliverance
having the same mind as you
you call men and women to dance

You have shaken hands in a pledge
saying it's all about God
and sacrificing in the clefts "The sacred romance"

What do you call it?
when the Promise is left behind?
You declare His statutes
and say you are having His mind

You came up with ways to say that marriage is not eternal
fitting into your displays
of which Amos says
are only stupid victories
compared to a horse galloping

I can't keep myself alive
nor bear the things of which He is comprised

I prayed for death
many a time
and this was not outside
nor far from Christ

For it is His sacrifice for which I cry
only to be with Him
and concerning His spiritual love
at least I tried

But do what seems good to you
I am through beating your hide

incurable are all wounds
however forget not the power of life
