An ode to Solomon
that man of peace
The one they called Shlomo
probably also leading into Joeshmo
the one who had the technicolored coat and dreams

He asked for wisdom and knowledge
and Oh the meaning of these things
how he was blessed with the Shulamite
though his father David spent much of his youth
having been thieved

The way of Nebuchadnezzar comes into mind
regarding the ways of Solomon's demise

But his own way was brought into the light
just as he regarded in his heart
the LORD on high

The daughters of Jerusalem ran after the LORD's song
which was his first delight

and all of the men of Zion
lacked nothing
but all of the country rode on the heights

only because of what was not yet given
did Solomon stumble in the night
sin abounds constantly
but His grace abounds more
giving equity to the first and the last
and keeping things bright

Knowledge increasing
such wonderful favor
as the grapes are so ripe

And presently we live
in the times of fullness
where all things have arrived

Presently His cross
is the scale
on which sin and newness are comprised

Therefore unto those who love Him
through redemption and salvation
all things are right
