Who dare write on Rochester

Johnny my dear Earl
Where have you been
The king is angry
You havent been seen.

It beggers belief
You didnt attend
When the king needed you there
At his side as a friend.

It s no good you know
You ll never aquire
From tarts in the theatre
The sex you desire.

Best stck to The Lords
Like a fish out of water
And fondling your wife
Not the publicans daughter.

The monkey
The drink
The debauchery bold
The pretence at another life
That did nt unfold
Or make any sense
A death wish I d say
To yourself
Via Madam Dildo
That time in the play.

Oh Johnny
Oh Johnny
You re face is a mess
You re blinded by syphillis
You have to confess
Was it worth it coming to this
Riddled with the pox and stinking of piss

But maybe it was meant to be
That by your misfortune
With such leisure
To satisfy a wanton pleasure
That you wished your peers to see
The errors of your irony

And so we bid a fond farewell
To Johnny
As he s always been
That naughty gorgeous Libertine

Perriwinkle

All I can say after the reading of this is WOW. There was certainly a lot going on in this piece and poor Johnny was not faring well at all. I beleive the correct spelling is syphilis.

Your buddy,

Pete

Lol

Aw thanks Pete for your kindness and the correct spelling...Woops!

My pleasure

I hope you don't mind the occasional editorial help...some take umbrage at it.

Pete

Not me

Pete. I really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
