Laughing At Me

You laugh at me but that's okay
I don't mind a bit.
I'm better than that
You laugh because I"m different
That's okay with me.
Because when you turn around there I'll be
Laughing at you instead of you at me.
You're all the same that's why I laugh
Your words are meant to chill
But to me there's nothing.
I feel no fear.
There's no shame in who I am.
I'll be who I wanna be.
That you can't change,
So don't even try.
No matter what you say
I'm my own person inside.
So laugh at me all you want.
In the end, I'll be the one laughing at you
Because I'm true.
I'm me and your just you.
So laugh, because in the end,
The only laughing one you'll see,
Is me.

I like it

this is well said. raskin

My Father..

Always used to quote lines of Shakespear to me. One of his favourites was 'To thine own self be true' Your poem sums this up beautifully, and i think there is much truth in that quote.
