When The Storm Blows By: Will You Be There? Part 5

This is part of a series and must be read through the end to understand. It's long I know but only way to get full effect. Kind of old too but don't hold that against me.

Roxanne

I sit in class,
Stomach wrenching,
Heart pounding.
I denied myself
What I needed most.
Starving for the other shore,
Vision blurring,
Nauseated.
Is it worth it?
A slow suicide,
In exchange for
A mere moment of beauty?
I want to eat,
Instead I reach in my purse
And pull out the thinspiration photos.
The fat lady shoving a donut in her mouth,
Like they're going out of style,
Is my rescuer.
The bell sounds and
I feel too weak to stand.
A thin wrist,
Sunken eyes,
Bony legs,
And pelvic thighs.
Gathering my books,
The world spins before my eyes,
As I pass out.
My heart's racing,
My eyes roll back
And everything goes black
As I fall to the floor.
