When The Storm Blows By: Will You Be There? Part 7

This is part of a series and must be read through the end to understand. It's long I know but only way to get full effect. Kind of old too but don't hold that against me.

Life's Hardships

Mercedes wants to talk.
It wouldn't be a problem
Except she wants to come here.
She can't come home with me.
It's been forever and a day
Since we've been friends
It seems.
She's never invited me to her house
And, although I suspect,
She's never mentioned my worst fear.
Is that what she wants to talk about?
I mentioned meeting at her house
And she didn't miss a beat in saying no.
We agreed to meet after school tomorrow.
I'm scared of what she's going to tell me
In a way.
I hope she isn't moving anymore
(She mentioned she moves a lot).
If she did,
I don't think I could live.
I already have trouble living with my silent pain
And anger.
I creep downstairs and put it back,
I sigh and say to no one in particular,
"Death will have to wait."
As I put the small handgun
Back in its place.
