My Girl (a poem for Lisa)
.
The rings were exchanged, the vows were said
My girl and I, soul mates even before we wed
True love is when two have become as one
Testament that we shall never be undone
Entwined, precious and pure
Eternal, steadfast and sure
My girl, comforting me in all ways
My girl, loving me all the nights and days
Lisa Darlene
I love you more than words can say
Lisa Darlene
I love you more each and every day
Under the moon, a giant silvery pearl
Me and my darling girl
Walk hand in hand through life
Me and my beautiful wife
Under the sun, a giant orb of fire
With steps that never faulter or tire
We walk hand in hand together
In love, always and forever
Lisa Darlene
I love you more than words can say
Lisa Darlene
I love you more each and every day
The stars may all burn out
And the heavens cease to shine
I will never live without
The most beautiful girl, who is mine
Purple and blue
My girl and I
Our love remains new
Our love shall never die
Lisa Darlene
I love you more than words can say
Lisa Darlene
I love you more each and every day
(i wrote this for my wife last year for our 25th anniversary, printed it on purple paper and placed inside a silver frame)
