Cradle Me Softly

Again cradle me softly
Safely in your arms,
To your breast hold me gently
And soothe me with your charms.
I feel the velvet healing
In your fingertips,
And there's such warm feelings
Borne upon your lips.
Just a gentle whisper
Breathed softly into my ear
Creates a summer out of winter,
A pearl of every tear.
But, must the gold change to grey?
Must your hold always slip away?

Wow,

poetmaster, this is so beautiful. i just love it and have read it over many times.
"the velvet healing" and "pearl of every tear"...just so sweet and comforting analogies!!
i can feel the bittersweet feelings in the last two lines.
great writing.
