A Scurry of Squirrels
Three
Bushy grey tails
Briskly
Followed their torsos
In a flurry
Of fun!
Such a delight
Watching them
Frolicking
Among pine trees.
Nuts
Are favourites;
Some were
Immediately eaten,
Others
Hidden in a cache
For later
Enjoyment.
Then,
With a blink
Of an eye,
They were gone!
Grey
Vanished
Amid the green;
Pine needles
And brown
Dead leaves
Remained.
Bluebells
Seemed to dip
In sadness
As they
Ran away.
Our hearts
Resumed
Their usual beat
As we
Continued
Our spring walk…

I can particularly enjoy this one because I have some squirrels that cavort in my back yard and traverse tthe back fence with their treasures and disappear into the trees wher I'm sure they maintain theiur stash. This was a plasent and fun read.
