Six Mischievous Mice
Six mischievous white mice
Sat on the shopkeeper’s shelf
Observing all his customers
With keenest eyes of stealth.
Clearly there was an expression
Of naughtiness on each face,
But, did those whiskers twitch
And make my heartbeat race?
No, I was mistaken
It could never be so
As they were made of sugar -
I bought them, don’t you know?
