Stargazing
Standing on tip-toes
I peered through
The keyhole of Eternity,
I saw the edge of Forever,
I looked at Infinity,
And was awestruck!
The Moon
Beckoned me
To scrutinize her,
To examine
Those contours,
The peaks,
The luminous face
That has enchanted
Mariners for Millennia.
I felt her pull
Just as they,
Her influence
That has moved oceans
To and fro
Moved me,
Made me smile
A smile of contentment.
The stars
Had no less
A persuasive art
Of attracting my attention –
Faint specks of light
Glowing on a velvet
Midnight sky
Drew me to investigate
Further, to examine
Their jewel-like beauty.
I felt insignificant
In the presence
Of all the vast expanse
That now unfolded
Before my eyes;
I realized
How puny Man really is,
And sensed
The timeless appeal
Of the grandeur
And splendour
Of the glorious heavens.
From then on
A love grew
And continues
To expand
As does the Universe,
Never to diminish
In fervour or zeal
At all the wonder
Spread before my eyes…

This is great
the imagery, the emotions that it evokes, the flow. raskin
awesome
Many thanks. Yes, there's emotion there. It's how i felt as a young boy with my small telescope, i still feel it now.
Cheers,
