Leaving You Without My Mind

Left here last night and back
with an enormous load on my back.
Had an intention so inclined,
leaving here without my mind.

Never ever felt so blind
in search of what I could find.
Having much to give than receive
and seeing grief upon a reef.

High on each thought till the last
I hardly sat flat to relax.
Returned with a sword of rewards
and my memories never spoke a word.

Caught each crumb of time from scratch,
hoping to bring victory to the hatch.
And when misery stole the day so fast,
my mind was numb from the blast.

And here again i am to wine and dine,
thinking of you the most sublime.
Knowing what must be done in time,
and leaving you without my mind.
